One of the things I love most about teaching is that there is a sense of closure to each school year and a fresh start to a new year. I always feel excited when I think about all the new things I can do when we have art class again.
Today I am cleaning out the cabinets so new ones can be installed over the summer. I am already imagining where materials will go next year. Next week I am meeting with the new art teacher that was hired for McAuliffe Elementary. The week after that I am taking classes towards renewing my license. And next fall there will be a new principal at Kennedy; Mr. Latch. I think I feel kind of the way the kids do when they meet their new teacher- a little nervous, but mostly excited.
I will be back blogging next fall, but am going to take the summer off. I spend most of my time in June, July, and August as full-time mommy to Maren (3) and Evan (1). Have a great summer!
